I think, it does not match.

I found a lot. I'll make another picture. At one spider, there was the spermatheka visible, and this does not match.

Chelicera in front 2 thooth only, the inner bigger.

The prosoma (with pits) and the vulva seem belong to Pelecopsis sensu lato...
I didn't find something similar but there are many females Pelecopsis not yet described.

Thank You, Pierre. This are good news and bad news.

So I have the genus, but there is waiting a lot of work.

May be, it is one oft the 64 described Pelecopsis from a region out of Europe? Asia, Africa. Or Europe with bad description?

The TmI (0.62) goes also in the way of Pelecopsis sp !

A new species from Africa or Asia would be surprising. In South of Greece, perhaps it could happen but I don't think it could be the case in Bulgaria.
But I also know there still are some new species that must be described from Greece !

I have asked Christo Delthev per mail. May be he has an idea next week?

Actually I proof the European Pelecopsis, but before describing a new spec, I have to check the north african and near East.

@Pierre not really. The region of Strandzha mountain serves as a "gate" for Asian influences and species found in Caucasus or the Asian part of Turkey are expected (and some have been found) in this region.

Simeon : thanks for the information !

Martin : It is not P. parvida : I have pictures of the couple (not on my site because the article must be first published by R. Bosmans) but the epigyne/vulva looks a bit different (even if there are also some similarities).  I sent a mail to R. Bosmans to have his opinion about your spider ;)
NB : could be interesting to have a profil view of the prosoma...

Next time I'll check followig European Pelecopsis:

P. bucephala wrong size
P. coccinea wrong size!
P. loksai (SK, HU, RS, MK) chel. tooth
P. laptevi chel. tooth

« Antwort #14 am: 2018-09-03 08:20:20 »
Christo & Maria Naumova are saying, this is Pelecopsis laptevi Tanasevich & Fet, 1986

The genital drawing for this species is very simple. We should publish better drawings. It is good, that we know our Bulgarian collegues, which are knowing this species.

@Rainer

I would say: P. pavida (link araneae, vs. P. laptevi), becaus the tubercel is rounded.

Cheers

Refering to a personal communication with R. Bosmans, both species could be the same, but it is only a possibility to be verified !
A profile view of the cephalothorax of the female should also be interesting because the female P. pavida seems to have a typical profile...

Dear Forum,

I am actually writing a paper on Greek Linyphiidae (with Pierre Oger and Johan Van Keer) and the species on which you are discussing is included in it.
For me the name to be used of the species is Pelecopsis pavida. This species was described as Erigone pavida by Cambridge in 1872 and remained in Erigone until I restudied the type in 1994, redescribed the male and gave the first drawings of the prosoma and palp.

Tanasevitch & Fet could not know this redescription in 1994, when they described allready in 1986 Pelecopsis laptevi.
In 1994, I wrote that P. pavida was closely related to P. laptevi, but differed by the shape of the cephalic tubercle, the size of the postocular sulci and the shape of the cymbial tubercle. This was based on 1 male holotype only.
In 2007, Gnelitsa described P. steppensis, according to the author closely related to P. laptevi.

Tanasevitch (2013) declared it a synonym of P. laptevi, because “small deviations in the shape of the carapace”, “the sulci either rounded or slightly elongated” and “the posterior outgrow of the cymbium either straight or slightly inclined» are too small differences to distinguish species.

Comparing now the existing drawings of P. pavida, P. laptevi and P. steppensis and considering the variations as defined by Tanasevitch, the conclusion seems logic to me. We wil write it in the paper

And females of P. pavida have a relatively high prosoma, with some large erect hairs, as can be seen in the excellent last photo of Martin.

Hello Robert,

thanks for the information about the project. Of course, the valid name would be P. pavida in case of a synonymisation.
